IBHS ABA Autism Individual Program

The goal of our IBHS Autism Individual Program is to provide evidenced-based interventions tailored to the individual needs of each client and family. At Paragon, we use basic principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to work towards this as a collaborative effort. We strive to improve the quality of life for families and children through support and transition of skills to the caregiver(s).

Paragon is a Pennsylvania IBHS ABA provider in Berks and Lancaster counties.

What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a proven clinical therapy that’s been producing impressive results for autistics since the 1960s. ABA therapy can improve social, communication, and learning skills, as well as general quality of life, through positive reinforcement. Further, ABA assesses the development, implementation, and assessment of natural environment behaviors to promote improvement and replace behavior. ABA includes the use of observation, data collection and functional analysis of the relationship between the environment and behavior.

At Paragon, we believe in developing an individualized treatment plan that is unique for each family and youth. We are committed to holistic treatment for the benefit of everyone involved in the development and support of our clients. To ensure the best possible outcomes, we only use evidenced-based ABA interventions.

IBHS ABA Individual Program: How it Works

  1. Assessment

You will first need a written order from a qualifying licensed provider for IBHS services. This can be done with us internally or from an outside provider.

2. Treatment & Implementation

We will conduct a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) to better understand your child’s behaviors. We then create a collaborative treatment plan to measure the child’s and family’s progress throughout treatment together.

3. Transference of Skills

We work with the family, school, and other appropriate caregivers to transfer each skill using ABA interventions.

4. Discharge Planning

Once there is a collaborative agreement that the child and family have the necessary skills and support to continue progress independently, you will have successfully completed the IBHS program.

Insurances Accepted for IBHS Individual Services

To best serve and provide access to all income levels, we accept both medical assistance for Berks (CCBH) & Lancaster (PerformCare) counties in addition to the following commercial insurances:

  • Highmark Blue Shield

  • Capital Blue Cross

  • Quest Behavioral Health

IBHS Transition

The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) has enacted new regulations for Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) to replace Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS) for the delivery of services in the home, school, and community. Changes include increased requirements for staff training, supervision, and credentialing. These new regulations were built from needs identified by community stakeholders (including school district principals, provider agencies, and consumers) during targeted focused groups for improved access and quality of care for children, youth, and young adults.
